Thank you for your interest in joining the Centre for Family Equity! We look forward to getting to know you and welcoming you to the CFE.

Who can join the CFE Network?

CFE Network membership is open to all parents and caregivers of all genders and gender identities living anywhere in BC with past and/or current experience of poverty and socioeconomic inequality. We welcome you to join our diverse community of parents and caregivers working together towards justice and economic security for families in BC. We value all levels of engagement and interest, and we have two network options: voting and non-voting members. 

Youth 13 - 18 - Join us through Transit for Teens!

Our Transit for Teens initiative has a pan-provincial youth network dedicated to making Transit for Teens in BC a reality. Are you a mover-and-shaker youth keen to impact the campaign and organize at your school and in your local community? As a member of the Transit for Teens Youth Coalition, you will have access to leadership and capacity-building opportunities, access to supporting impactful events and lobby meetings, and more!

What info do we gather?

We collect your name, your email address, and your general location in BC for ongoing contact and engagement purposes when you join the CFE Network as a voting or non-voting member. We also ask if you are a single-income or a dual-income partnered household to best determine engagement opportunities for you at the CFE. If you wish to join as a voting member, we need to collect your address and renew your membership each year.

The Centre for Family Equity is guided by a useful tool called our Basis of Unity. The Basis of Unity explains our shared beliefs and guides our words and our actions as we work together at the organization within a very diverse communityWe ask that you read through our Basis of Unity to ensure membership is right for you. Please fill in the form below if you are ready to become a member.

What do members get access to?

As a CFE Network member, you will receive email communications and have access to CFE engagement activities on an ongoing basis. We email on average once per month and on an as-needed basis when opportunities arise. You will remain a member until you unsubscribe from our email list or inform us you no longer wish to be a member. Voting members must renew their membership annually. We root what we do in community engagement and direct input from our members. We want to hear from you! 

Opportunities include:

  • Participate in our annual listening campaign to shape and determine our annual strategic focus.
  • Apply to open calls for peer researchers and peer leads on research and engagement projects.
  • Apply to open calls to join our Advisory Committees. 
  • Attend CFE trainings and capacity-building events.
  • Bring your insights and feedback to consultations on programs, services, and policy solutions.
  • Join available programs and events offered by CFE including skill-building workshops.
  • Join ad hoc committees and working groups based on our developing projects and programs.

Is there a membership fee?

There is no cost to join or participate. We do encourage members directly engaged with the organization to make an annual contribution between $5 to $75.00 from our website here. All those who make an annual contribution will receive a tax receipt.

Interested in being a voting network member?

If you wish to join us as a voting member, please click 'yes' below and fill in your address in BC. Attending an orientation is a mandatory part of becoming a CFE voting member. Voting members can attend the AGM and can apply for nomination for the board of directors. A CFE Non-Voting Member can apply to be a voting network member at any time throughout the year. Minors are not permitted to be voting members. Voting members must renew their voting membership annually. Our annual membership renewal drive takes place January to March. We need and love voting members! Please tick the relevant box in the form below if this is a fit for you.

The CFE has many people who have regular, ongoing roles across our projects, and we engage many people in our one-time events.
