Veronica is the Centre for Family Equity’s part-time Impact Communications Lead. She is a lawyer, a writer, and a mother. A self-proclaimed word nerd, she is invigorated by the challenge of crafting persuasive, precise and equity-based comms to effect concrete change.

Veronica’s other day job involves creating plain language resources to help people navigate legal problems, including immigration crises, housing instability, and intimate partner violence. She also volunteers as a board member with a not-for-profit trying to shift the way power is held and used in the settler philanthropic sector.

Veronica's parents met as student activists in the Philippines – they spoke openly and often about racism and structural injustice at the dinner table. She learned early that these are not abstract ideas but the texture of people's daily lives. These days, you can find Veronica arranging playdates, scrambling to return library books on time, and sitting down to enjoy shared meals as often as life allows.
