VANCOUVER, BC; unceded territories - The Centre for Family Equity has joined over 100 organizations from across Canada in endorsing an open letter prepared by Momentum asking that the Government of Canada act to address rising anti-2SLGBTQIA+ hate in Canada.

Over the past three years, Canada has witnessed a distressing surge in incidents targeting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, with hate-motivated violence reaching alarming levels. Our communities are witnessing the reality of anti-2SLGBTQIA+ protestors targeting drag spaces, pride events, and even public figures within the community. The rise of hate speech and online attacks directed at 2SLGBTQIA+ leaders further exacerbates this concerning trend. Recognizing the urgent need for action, the Centre for Family Equity has added its voice to the collective plea for government intervention. By signing the open letter, the Centre for Family Equity joins other organizations in calling for comprehensive measures to combat this rising wave of hate.
