Asumi is the Centre for Family Equity's part-time Operations & Capacity-Building Lead. Asumi is an operations specialist in the non-profit sector and has more than 7 years of experience helping charitable organizations based in so-called Vancouver streamline internal systems and policies and optimize expenses and revenue. She is deeply passionate about social equity and accessibility work, and with her knowledge in systems, administration, HR, finance, and governance, she supports the CFE's smooth behind-the-scenes operations, ensuring staff feel supported. Working closely with the Executive Director, they provide cross-departmental support, helping teams coordinate effectively and reducing operational silos across the organization. In this role, they strengthen the organization's capacity by building efficient and equitable systems, developing sustainable processes, and equipping staff with the tools and structures they need to focus on mission-driven work.
Asumi obtained a Master of Arts degree from UBC's Art History, Visual Art and Theory Department, and has served as board Treasurer of WePress Community Arts Space in the DTES since 2024.
