About us
The Centre for Family Equity, formerly known as the Single Mothers’ Alliance, addresses family poverty in BC through community-engaged research, policy recommendations, law reform, and support programs. Our intersectional equity approach considers how families experience systemic discrimination and socioeconomic inequality based on their identities. We work to create solutions that meet the real and evolving needs of families based on their lived experiences. Driven by our community-based organizing model and active member network, we determine our strategic priorities based on community engagement to create a BC where all families thrive.
