These sessions, facilitated by CultureAlly, are open to all CFE members, supporters, and allies with an emphasis on important learning for non-Indigenous people. Whether a newcomer or if your family has been here for generations, all are invited to join in the decolonizing process within which our work in justice and human rights is firmly rooted. Truth and Reconciliation is not just one day of the year.
Truth and Reconciliation Workshop: This training is perfect for anyone who wants to learn the basics or wants a refresher. It is designed to give an understanding of residential schools, the impacts on survivors, present day intergenerational trauma, and how colonial legislation like the Indian Act continues to oppress Indigenous peoples.
Intersectionality Workshop: This session helps us understand how overlapping identities - like race, gender, disability, and more - impact our lived experiences of oppression. It promotes inclusive behaviours and meaningful actions.
Accountability, Action and Indigenous Sovereignty: This session dives deeper into justice for Indigenous peoples today by looking at Indigenous-led solutions, what Land Back really means, and creating positive change for everyone in our communities
