Yesterday, we sent a joint letter with the BC Alliance for Health Living to the Minister of Citizens' Services, addressing data and recommendations regarding barriers to accessing physical activities for equity-seeking families.
Our letter highlights key findings in Physical Activity for Health's Collaborative's "Consultation with Equity-Deserving and Less Active Families Engagement Report", which includes data from our Active Kids BC community engagement with low-income equity-deserving families in BC.
Joint advocacy resulting from the engagement and report seeks to address administrative and other barriers facing low-income families as the Province establishes Connected Services BC, a new model with potential to reduce access barriers and streamline stigmatizing and cumbersome sport and physical activity subsidy application systems.
